Vodianova, the supernova.

To state the obvious, Natalia Vodianova is pretty much the coolest.

Check out the supermodel spotted dancing the night away in a sparkling gold Balmain gown, heavy silver jewels, and gunmetal eyeshadow.

Ladies, whoever told you not to mix your metals was definitely wrong.

A mezclar metales!

127 Hours Later

Ok, so the other day I was lucky enough to get a ticket for an exclusive screening of "127 Hours" followed by a little bit of chitchat with director Danny Boyle. Although he didn't answer my question if there was going to be any follow-up to the horror franchise "28 Whatever Later" (two movies that I loooove), he did say some interesting stuff about his latest movie.

Ok, so the movie was awesome! I really liked it. I don't want to give a "cinematographer description" of the film, I don't like them. But well... I'll say a bit... the imagery is really nice (I really feel like a prepotent film student), you don't see much, as most of the movie takes place inside a canyon (Here's where I should add, "I learned that during my Appreciation & Understanding Films class"... ha!) . In the beginning you see a lot of different images, a contrast between the city life and suddenly the vast Utah desert. A lot of contrast between blue and orange, which catches the viewer's attention (for what they explained in the Q&A session), and something that according to Boyle wasn't intentional. Hey, what can you do? That's how the desert works! But the film actually pays a lot of emphasis on water, which Boyle said was an important element of the film.

However, the element I liked more about the film was the sound. Not the soundtrack (which is actually pretty good), but the sound editing. It helps the viewer put himself in the situation more easily. I know it sounds strange, but believe me, it works! I think this can be proved in what happens to be the climax of the story, the sound here works amazingly, as if you where hearing Mozart played live by Mozart himself (I know... stupid comparison).

But well, I won't give you much details as that would ruin the movie for you. Just go and see it! It is pretty entertaining and actually good. It is based on Aron Ralston true story. If you read his book, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Boyle expressed he based the story only on the chapters he describes his situation while trapped inside the canyon.

Hope you watch it and enjoy it!

Sólo vayan a verla!
